Stop testing on day 7?

Close contacts as DS tested positive last Tuesday. Me and DH tested negative each fay, today is our day 7.
Did you stop testing after day 7? Or carry on in case you still may have it?
I'm thinking we would have caught it or shown positive if we were going to get it by now as we haven't distanced or made any attempt to keep away from one another in the house and have carried on as normal with lots of cuddles and play time.
When do you draw a line and say right that's it we dodged it this time and didn't catch it?
I've read lots of stories on here where households one positive and others didn't get it so just interested to know if they tested for 7 days and then said right we are clear let's get on with our lives?!

My dd tested positive last Thursday, the text we got from T&T says 7 days. So you sound clear.
