Any testing experts want to advise?

The sequenve of events is:

Friday night - DS slept over at a friends place.
Sunday morning - friend and his mum tested postive.
Sunday afternoon - DS started feeling like he had a cold
Monday morning - did an autotest at home - very very faint positive line
Monday afternoon - did a PCR test - negative
Tuesday morning - did an autotest - positive, clear line
Tuesday morning - did a pharmacy antigen test (basically a LFT but much deeper sample taken by pharmacien) - negative

What do we do?? Does he have it or not??

I'd say yes as he's had two positives. That, along with him feeling unwell and his very close contact with two confirmed positives means he should definitely isolate.

Unfortunately until we get an official positive, nothing else starts - his isolation period, getting time off work to stay with him, free tests. (we aren't in the UK).

I think I worked out why this has happened: I did a throat swab as well as nose for the two autotests, and I think it has picked the infection up earlier than the nose-only swabs (which are the norm in my country). What a PITA, we are now out of sync with the official timeline... but I can't in good conscience put him back in school.
