Hello, got covid, pretty miserable. I’ve felt like I’m going to be sick quite often, which is unexpected.

But I also have a pain in my chest, comes on every 30 seconds or so, and SEEMS to be related to what’s going on in my stomach rather than anything more serious. Has anyone else had that with covid?

In the middle of the night I was quite close to calling 111 because, you know, chest pain. But I’m not short of breath really, and I thought maybe it’s heartburn, which I’ve never had. Can anyone describe the feeling?

Thank you!

It feels like a burning pain in the middle of your chest that sort of goes up to your throat. I've got covid too and woke with this the other night, not had heartburn for years. Try sitting up and just sipping water or taking a Rennie if you have any. I've sometimes found that a minty chewing gum can help for a little bit too.

Could well be, it was certainly a common symptom with the original Wuhan virus. Try gaviscon and if that's no good and the problem persists, ask your doctor to prescribe omeprazole.

Was it? That’s really interesting, I didn’t know that. Thanks, I’ll try Gaviscon..

That’s really encouraging to know that you’re having it too. It’s fine during the day, I think- presumably because we’re not lying down??

It is always better to get chest pain checked out. Please let the medical experts decide if it's heartburn!

I have Covid now and have had awful acid reflux, causing a burning pain in my chest. Hope you're ok. Can't wait to be over this thing!!

Yes of course. I am waiting on a callback from my GP, but in the meantime I’m feeling moderately reassured.

See your GP. I have been prescribed omeprazol for heartburn caused by covid but my Gp examined me and asked where the pain was exactly and type of pain/ how long it lasted
