...how?!

My DS (8) Is completely asymptomatic but we all tested (LFT) on Saturday before we went out. All negative apart from his which was about as positive as you get, unsurprising as half his year is off with COVID.

Out of curiosity he tested again this morning and to my complete surprise, he was negative! Tried a different type of test an hour ago and again, negative. (both LFT again).

I don't understand how it can go from so positive to completely negative in 2 days!

His immune system has done a good job at clearing it. That’s good news!
Or it could be a false negative.

My sons was negative on day 2. Had been testing prior to that for school and was negative. Got positive on Monday and Tuesday evening faint positive, but Wednesday morning negative altogether. He was also asymptomatic

Why is it surprising? There has to be a time you go from one to the other. I was positive one day, negative the next. If he's asymptomatic maybe he would have also been positive had you tested the Friday, Thursday, Wednesday etc before? So he didn't just have it 2 days?

My DD tested positive Monday night on a routine LFT, no symptoms at all thankfully. It was a very faint positive but it was there.

Tuesday faint positive.
Wednesday negative.
Thursday negative.
Friday the darkest line possible for positive.
Saturday faint positive.
Sunday faint positive.
Today negative.

No idea what was going on with the tests or her immune system but she has been completely well throughout thankfully and no one else in the house has caught it either.
