LFT v PCR

Can someone clarify please, If DD tests positive on a LFT as part of the twice weekly testing required by her secondary school, she doesn't need to do a PCR as she is symptomless? Can her school insist on a confirmatory PCR test? And can I get one from the NHS or would I have to lie and say she has symptoms?

I think the NHS one might cover it. They have a lot of options for if you don't have symptoms

You dont need a follow up PCR. Have you registered the positive LFT online

I dont see why school would ask for a PCR.

You only need a PCR if you have symptoms but negative LFT, pinged as a close contact, need covid treatment or the covid payment scheme.

Put her +LFT code into the NHS website, they send you a code to put in the app to notify close contacts and email you the test and trace form. I teach at a secondary school and tested + today and that's what I had to do + notify my school
