Is this covid?

Someone I know has a sore throat. They tested positive on a lateral flow test. Is it definitely covid or could it be a cold or virus? They are stressed out.

If they tested positive on a LFT then it’s covid.

Sounds like covid but they can always book a PCR to confirm if they don't trust the LFT.

No need to PCR (unless want to claim isolation payment), a positive LFT means you are positive.

Yes it's covid. False positives are incredibly rare. And they are symptomatic too. Don't stress, everyone's getting it at some point, probably soon.

A sore throat is a common symptom of covid, especially omicron.
