Hi all, I can finally leave self isolation today after 18 days of being stuck in (DS then me, consecutively). I just wanted to share the great news!

It was sheer bad luck getting it on the last day of DS isolation, and has rendered me pretty depressed stuck here alone (LP). But the sun is out and now I can escape!

And to anyone also self isolating, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. It was as if overnight how I felt went 75% better, so no matter how crap you are feeling I am sure you will get there in the end. :)

That’s great news I’m really pleased for you. I’m seriously hoping I’m not going to go that long I’m still showing as positive on day 10. I have an interview on Friday and really don’t want to miss it 😢

hi @youdoido you can leave after day 10 even if you are showing positive still, as per govt guidelines. Good luck with the interview!!

Thanks OP. DS tested positive on Monday. DH and started feeling ill on Friday and tested positive Sad. We are very fed up. So hoping we can come out early if we get negative LFTs but we'll see what happens.

Runbish this!

Happy for you! I remember this from March 2020! 3 weeks inside. Mind you not much else we could do then.

Now DD tested positive Monday, still testing positive. I imagine she will have to do the full 10 days. Did your LFTs gradually get fainter, or was it more sudden?

I tested positive yesterday. Think my son is also positive. Will be testing him tomorrow. He's only 4. He was negative on Friday. We are just treating him as positive. DH so far negative. But we also have my mum in the house who is clinically vulnerable. She is my main worry.

@moita I have fingers crossed for you all! you will get there!!

@rambleonplease it was weird with the lines, it was a very strong line throughout then one day it faded a lot, the next day barely visible. So you can quickly go. I would say it's likely to be later through the process than sooner though, going by others experiences too!

@loloballlolo I did not know that. I wouldn’t want to risk going out testing positive anyway as it will be around vulnerable children so best to be safe.
