Is this still a positive test?

This is a positive result isn't it? I've done two tests today, both with lines like this. I feel pretty rough in general, don't think I've got a fever, thermometer says my temperature is normal. But my face feels hot somehow, a bit like it does with mild sunburn. I'm now on my day eleven, does this mean I'm still infectious? Thing is I need to go out tomorrow to take my child to a sports event, but want to be safe.

Is this still a positive test?

Yes

DiddyHeck · 30/01/2022 00:17

Yes, what makes you think it's not positive? There's a very clear line there.

Orangeon · 30/01/2022 00:21

It’s wildly positive! Confused

Lucienandjean · 30/01/2022 00:21

If you are on day 11, you can end isolation, even if you are still testing positive, so long as you don't have a fever.

Emmelina · 30/01/2022 00:21

There’s definitely a line, but after 10 days you’re out of isolation anyway unless you have a fever so you’re good for tomorrow!

Orangeon · 30/01/2022 00:21

You can’t go out tomorrow.

2YearsOfWastedTime · 30/01/2022 00:24

Take your temperature
If you havent got a fever
You can go out

Lucienandjean · 30/01/2022 00:27

Orangeon, why do you think she can go out tomorrow? She's done her ten days isolation. The rules explicitly say you can end isolation even if you are still testing positive, as long as you don't have a fever.

Some people (my dh being one) test positive for weeks after an infection. That doesn't mean they are still infectious or that they should have to stay home for all those weeks.

Lucienandjean · 30/01/2022 00:28

Sorry, that should be "Why do you think she CAN'T go out..."

cool4cats2020 · 30/01/2022 01:16

Thermometer says I don't have a fever (36.5). Not had a fever during covid at all. So hopefully I'll be ok for tomorrow.

@Orangeon

You can’t go out tomorrow.
This isn’t correct
RoRoYoYo · 30/01/2022 01:43

If your temperature is normal then you no longer need to isolate. Enjoy your freedom!

Dinoboymama · 30/01/2022 01:46

I am day 13 and still positive on lfd test i went out already. You only stay in past 10 days if you have a fever.

Missed the fact OP was on day ten!

She probably shouldn’t go out as is still infectious, but she can Smile

Just to update, LFT was negative this morning. I seemed to have a double infection - had very faint lines on tests on days 5 and 6, negative in day 7, and was feeling fine. So I was almost out of isolation on day 7. Then day 8 had a very bold line and felt rubbish again, that continued until today. Still feel worse now than I did during the first 5 days, but reasonably comfortable that I'm past being infectious.
