Pinged by app - through a wall?

Has anyone been pinged on the Covid app and reasonably sure it was via a neighbour's phone through the wall?

DH and I both pinged by "contact" yesterday. We went out but separately and weren't close to anyone for over 15 minutes.

Already cases in child's class (and we wouldn't need to isolate as fully vaccinated) so I'm not worried but wondered how common this is/was. Don't know neighbour well enough to ask. Perhaps surprising both households still using the app!

(A) anyone still has the app
(B) anyone would take any notice of it tbh

Yup. I hadn’t realised I still had the app running. Was pinged on a day I hadn’t been out of the house and knew my neighbour was self isolating in the room next to mine!

Yep, last week. I knew DS was a contact so was waiting for the T&T text but then both DH and I were 'pinged' by the app (I'd actually forgotten I still had it!) and the date given was only the day before when we hadn't even left the house. Got the text for DS 4 day later which was 6/7 days after he'd been a contact (through childcare so we weren't 'contacts')

I don't know my neighbours well and don't want to!) but could hear awful coughing through the wall so assume it was them

I got pinged through a wall when you still had to isolate in the early days of the app! Meant I was on my own for Christmas! Only found out on Boxing Day it was next door!

I deleted the ridiculous app at least six months ago.

You no longer need to check into venues in that way for some time now, so time to dump it. It was never any use anyway. Not fit for purpose. Remember the pingdemic!

This is why I never had the app. My Bluetooth picks up my neighbours devices.

People have probably just forgotten to delete the app, I have a lot of crap on my phone I need to go through, it's like having loads of undeleted emails. I would just ignore and delete now
