Just received a batch I ordered online for daily testing a 6 yr old and they're the old style nose and throat type. Anyone know if they're abandoning flowflex or was it just a one off, still had some old style ones in stock kind of thing.

Off to trawl pharmacies now as no way will he do those 🤦‍♀️

The last 3 packets I’ve had have been the old style ones. Don’t know why. I just do the nose anyway with my children.

Our school has been sent the old style ones too.
Just use the old ones as double nose ones, just like the PCR instructions used to say you could do.

Old style through the post but husband went to a pharmacy yesterday and they were giving out the nose only ones

Yeah our last few boxes have been the nose and throat ones. It’s hard as my 6 year old has a really sensitive gag reflex and she vomits when we try and do her throat.

Just use the old ones up the nose. No need to do kids throats at all!

We're on day 9 of Covid and they definitely work just up the nose!

Yep old style as well. I wondered if it was because there were reports that omicron is picked up better from the throat.

Old style too here. They are 30 minutes for a result not 15! The instructions for children on mine say you can swab nostrils extra if not swabbing the throat.

Haven't tried this to know if it works but dr on Twitter said if you say a long laaaa while doing the throat swab it stops gag reflex!

The NHS website used to say you could do nose only for adults as well if necessary. I've still got some of the old ones but haven't used them yet because of them taking longer but when I do I'll only be doing my nose.

Yes, we've been sent the old style too. However, I noticed my recent batch was manufactured at the end of December so they're definitely still around. It's not necessarily old stock.

Aah thst explains it, I thought I'd found an old box lurking when I opened one the other day.

Also got old style - so much more fiddly than the flow flex! Not just the testing but all the bits
