DH went for pcr yesterday (all the symptoms). This morning got this text! Can’t be right surely or did I miss something!

Strange message after pcr!

We just got positive notifications for DD and they didn’t look like this-standard NHS texts and emails.
Don’t click on anything!

No, none of ours looked like this.
Delete it quick !

Mumdiva99 · 28/01/2022 08:52

I've never seen anything like that. Was it an email or text? The NHS texts are plain text and white background. The emails very plain too.

girlmom21 · 28/01/2022 08:52

That's not a text

ApolloandDaphne · 28/01/2022 08:55

That doesn't look like a text at all. Are you sure he isn't just winding you up?

WeAreTheHeroes · 28/01/2022 08:56

When did he first have symptoms?

BertieBotts · 28/01/2022 08:57

It's an email in dark mode.

No idea if it's legit (not in UK!) But the colour of the background is not relevant.

sidesplittinglol · 28/01/2022 09:00

Yeh that doesn't look real to me either. Don't click on anything and delete.

Nevermindful · 28/01/2022 09:02

That looks like a screenshot from the NHS Covid app.

Yes - how else would the OP post it on here?!
CountessOfSponheim · 28/01/2022 09:29

When he was booking the PCR, when did he say his symptoms had started?

kimlo · 28/01/2022 09:35

thats from the nhs app. But the app doesn't know you tested positive until you put the code in that you get once you have your positive result. It isn't linked to your medical records.

The texts and emails don't have those graphics.

WeAreTheHeroes · 28/01/2022 09:39

Best thing he can do if he has received that message is call 119 and speak to an agent. If it's incorrect they should be able to advise him.

WeAreTheHeroes · 28/01/2022 09:41

Also, was that his first positive PCR test? When was it done? Has he done any lateral flow tests since then?

bruffin · 28/01/2022 09:41

It depends how you booked your test. If you booked PCR through the app will automatically receive your test results,

"If you book your test through the NHS COVID-19 app, the app will automatically receive your test result. However, if you booked a test a different way or you have taken a rapid lateral flow test at home, you may still be able to link your test result to the app."
NHS site

kimlo · 28/01/2022 09:46

I've never done it that way. If he did and the test is linked to the app, then it'll depend on the date he put as his first day of symptoms. More than 10 days ago and his isolation will have finished.

ShinyHappyPoster · 28/01/2022 09:46

It depends when he says his symptoms started. If he had the PCR on day 6 of symptoms then he'd get his result on day 7 and that's now when you can end isolation in England.

Mumdiva99 · 28/01/2022 09:56

Thats not correct. You can end after day 6 - but only if you have a negative LFT on day 5 and day 6. You have to have 2 negative LFTs otherwise it is still 10 days.
Nevermindful · 28/01/2022 09:57

@WeAreTheHeroes I meant it didn’t look like a text, it looks like it’s from inside the app. If it came through as a text message that seems quite odd to me.

WeAreTheHeroes · 28/01/2022 10:17

I get you.

Come back OP and provide more info!

Emmelina · 28/01/2022 11:44

It looks like it’s from the app, not a text.
Did he register a positive LFT a week or so ago? That’s the only thing I can think of. Otherwise he should call 119 and find out what’s going on if he only took the PCR yesterday.

Jungfraujoch · 28/01/2022 19:09

It was in the app after he put in the code from pcr test which he only had yesterday afternoon (Thurs). Symptoms only started Wed night. He thinks it’s confused him with DS positive result over a week ago which DH had entered in the app.

OP posts:
WeAreTheHeroes · 28/01/2022 19:18

You can't share the app between multiple users. That's your DS's isolation that's ended.
