If you are a HCP what do you think about the vaccine rules coming in?

Does it bother you that colleagues are unvaccinated? Or is it more worrying about the potential staff shortages?

@secular39

He said this:

"The deadline is no longer applicable....there will be no further enforcement of the regulations."

There is now NO requirement for a first dose by 3rd Feb

That is enough for me.

Where? The word “deadline” doesn’t appear in his speech. Confused

I’ve had a team of lawyers on this all day. Clearly should have just asked the randomers on here. Hmm

If you’re quoting something, you should state why you’re quoting.

My Trust today sent out emails to all staff to confirm that no action will be taken against unvaccinated staff.

Would love to see the guidance they’re working off! I want my staff doing other things!

@UnicornsReal

They have made themselves look like absolute idiots.
Yes they have...proper knobheads....me I was never fussed one way or the other but 3 girls in my community team ( out of 50) were hesitant but ended up getting it....they were worried about fertility....although one of them is now happily pregnant so fine about it now.

My trust sent out an email to say the feb deadline is on hold...watch this space ( or words to that effect)

The mandate will soon be scrapped. The longer they drag this on for the more ridiculous they look.

@theworldsgonefeckingmad

I've been to A&E today, never occurred to me to ask if the triage nurse or the doctor who went on to treat me, or the cleaners who cheerily cleaned up crumbs left by a child in the waiting area if they had been vaccinated...unless I asked all the other patients sat there in the room aswell what is the point really. I'm grateful to live in a country where I can go to A&E and be treated effectively. Will those refusing treatment by unvaccinated NHS staff also not go ANYWHERE without having proof their shopkeeper/barber/taxi driver etc had been vaccinated. Will you refuse your post unless the postie can prove their vaccinated status? Vaccinate yourself if you want protection from serious illness and mind your own business about everyone else
As my clinically vulnerable 75 year old disabled husband had a dentist up close today with his hands in DHs mouth I think it would be reasonable to know if the dentist is vaccinated. I don't care if it only reduces the risk of them passing the virus on by a tiny amount as any reduction is worth it if you are vulnerable.

There aren't any other patients in there by the way, strict appointment times, reduced number of dentists working with extended opening hours, and you wait outside till dental nurse collects you.

If NHS staff are entitled to make their own decision then patients should be given the information so that they can make their own decisions.
