Has anyone had Omikron with no symptoms?

The majority of people I know who have tested positive within the last few weeks have little to no symptoms. Especially the children I know with it. Presumably they have Omicron as it's the dominant strain. So anecdotally I'd say it isn't rare at all.

Sharrowgirl · 26/01/2022 17:34

For every person who tests positive with no symptoms, there must be two or three more who haven’t taken a test. So, a lot.

minipie · 26/01/2022 17:34

Absolutely loads have no symptoms IME especially children

Aurorie11 · 26/01/2022 17:39

My DD age 11 was tired for a day
Me early 50s overweight, bit sneezy. Very mild had a worse cold a couple of months ago.
If it wasn't for positive lfts would have been at school/ work

thewhatsit · 26/01/2022 17:41

There are something like 9 positive in DC’s class (that we know of!). One has a vaguely runny nose, the rest have nothing.

BooksAndHooks · 26/01/2022 17:44

Yes my BIL, SIL and niece all had no symptoms, picked up on a LFT before they visited vulnerable relatives.

Both my DD (Delta back in October) and my son with omicron had no symptoms at all.

Sockpile · 26/01/2022 17:46

DS (13) has no symptoms, his lateral flows are negative but he had a positive PCR.

Lulululu1989 · 26/01/2022 18:13

Me - no symptoms at all, literally nothing
Ds10 - headaches and tired for a couple of days
Ds7 - no symptoms at all

@Lulululu1989

Has anyone had Omikron with no symptoms?
At least half of every household hit I think. 5 in our household. 3 zero symptoms. Same ratio at both DSis house and DB. From what I have seen, it seems to be the young ones who have “covid type” symptoms if any

@Lulululu1989

Yes, I know 4 adults in my family with zero symptoms. One is unvaccinated, 2 are double vaccinated and 1 is triple vaccinated.
Frederica852 · 26/01/2022 18:41

I had barely any symptoms and none of the traditional covid symptoms.
A bit of a snuffly nose for a couple of days was about it. Wouldn't have thought anything of it but I had to take a test because I had a hospital appointment. That's the only reason I found out

lljkk · 26/01/2022 21:59

Original wild covid was ~ 33% of the infected had no symptoms they would have reported in the 'old days' -- I have always presumed Omicron was same. Maybe higher... 50-60% without symptoms that anyone would have noticed in 2019?

HerRoyalNotness · 26/01/2022 22:09

11yo no symptoms
4.5yo slight fever one evening, sneezes. Nothing after 2 days

The other 3 of us had symptoms

Hellokittyninja · 26/01/2022 23:53

DS10 and I both have covid at the moment. We have both been v poorly, he has had a bad cough and I’ve been quite Ill. Neither of us us had it before and I’m fully vaxed and boosted. I am on immunosuppressants for an underlying condition. It’s not symptom free for everyone sadly.

HarrietSchulenberg · 27/01/2022 00:18

My 14yo and 18yo both had it with no symptoms. After 4 days they were both testing negative and stayed negative.

Me and 21yo ds tested negative throughout and had no symptoms. We were all in a small 3 bed house with kitchen, living space and bathroom fully shared throughout. We'd seen family members in 2 households the day before my 14yo tested positive. No-one other than 19yo tested positive.

If we'd not routinely tested we'd never have known.

Neverfittedin85 · 27/01/2022 00:30

My primary aged DD absolutely no symptoms at all.
Only did the lft in Sunday as school ask for it.

Enough4me · 27/01/2022 00:33

I have had it and weeks later still not 100%, it was really draining (cough, headache, sore throat and aches).

Enough4me · 27/01/2022 00:33

*double vaccinated, boosted and no underlying illnesses.

EmilyEmmabob · 27/01/2022 03:31

My CEV DH has it now, he's been feeling fairly rotten with it but basically like he has a heavy cold. Weirdly, I had similar symptoms as him (sore throat) which made me feel poorly but I've tested negative on LFs and PCR so I'm not sure if it's actually Omicron making him feel so poorly or if the positive result was incidental.

My other relatives who have tested positive are all symptomatic.

NatMoz · 27/01/2022 03:44

My brother, mum and dad caught it. Only my dad had minor symptoms. If they weren't in the same household my brother and mum wouldn't have tested and would never have known

Onthedowns · 27/01/2022 04:35

My 6yr old son no symptoms. Me however day and half of feeling really rough body aches sweats headache, dry throat . Day 4 and still have a bad headache. Double vaxxed boosted. 40 no health issues slightly overweight

Dd7 and DH so far still testing negative. Ds back to school after 5 days

User764832 · 27/01/2022 05:02

Adult DS just had a mild hives type rash, no other symptoms

Perfectlystill · 27/01/2022 05:24

My husband (early 50s) has no symptoms.

lifeissweet · 27/01/2022 05:31

I had what was probably Delta last year with no symptoms. Currently have what is probably Omicron and feel like utter shit. Totally lost my sense of smell and I hurt all over - mostly my eyes. Horrible.
