Please reply if you've been in the same position recently!

I've just tested positive on a lateral flow test for covid. My elcs is booked for this Friday (3 days away) and I'm now stressing that my section will be postponed due to this. 2 people I know personally haven't had this happen but I've had the WORST luck during the pregnancy and if this was going to happen.. it'd end up happening to me.

My pcr is booked for tomorrow at hospital as that's the routine, but I don't think I'll sleep tonight having the uncertainty on my mind. So any experiences will be gratefully appreciated

(Elcs booked for 39+1 due to medical reasons)

You need to inform your midwife asap, they may want to put you on blood thinners to avoid clotting. As it’s a planned CS, I doubt they will change date.

Unlikely to change the date if booked for medical reasons, but do inform your midwife, they will need to know so they can isolate you in a single room and also likely change the order of sections on the day to allow for any necessary additional cleaning in theatre. You should get the same treatment you would if negative, just with a bit more PPE involved.
