Hi
Suspect my little one has Covid, awaiting pcr test. He’s coughing constantly, almost every 2-3 minutes and he’s being sick from the coughing. Thankfully his temp is normally and he seems ok ish but it’s horrible seeing him trying to catch his breath and being sick due to the coughing. I doubt I’ll sleep much as worried about him, I’ve got him next to me. Is this normal? The cough is so violent. I suspect I have it too but my symptoms are much more cold like/sinus infection but with loss of smell. Any advice would be much appreciated. He’s propped up and had vix on his chest and calpol :(

Hope he feels better soon.

It might not be covid. I say this because Dd had three nasty nasty coughs similar to what your son had between September and November - all her pcr tests were negative. She then did actually catch covid last month and it did not cause a cough at all. She already had a non covid cough when she caught covid and it did not worsen it!

Regardless I hope your son feels better soon and test will be negative.

I had a nasty cough last month (not covid but did end up catching covid afterwards) and Covonia really helped and I think kids can have it - and I usually think cough medicine is poop. I thought bronchostop was good when my daughter had a nasty cough too!

Thanks for the reply. Thankfully he managed to sleep for a solid chunk, coughing away this morning but apart from bad cough and slight temp he’s fine. Pcr should arrive soon. I’m taking one too, I feel awful but mine is all sinus and cold symptoms so it’ll be interesting to see if any of us test positive

Poor thing. I’m glad he got some cough - free sleep. Could well be Covid of course but hope you both feel better soon.
