Faint line on LFT

Just a quickie........tested positive last Friday evening 21st and a very fine line came up, which I know is a positive result. I'd had cold symptoms most of the week which repeatedly came up negative on LFT.

So my question is.......does a faint line equal a mild dose of covid, because my symptoms are very mild. Also the amount of time it took for the line to develop, mine took nearly 20 mins, does that equate to mild infection too? I'm happy to see out the isolation period, but felt worse early last week when I thought I had a cold, but was testing negative.

No replies, no worries. five

I've tested negative on day five, so one more test to go , then I'm a free woman.

Oh I hope this is true I had a faint line on Tuesday but I feel very tired

At the height of my daughter's infection when she had lots of symptoms, the line was bright red, the day before when she had none, there wasn't even a line. Now on day 4, the line is coming up quite faint. She hardly has any symptoms. So I'm guessing that means the infection is fading the lighter it gets.

Stop using left if you can't see or use them.

I also had a cold for 48 hours and felt awful and tested negative.

Then tested positive with the fattest red line possible 8 hours later!

Day 5 today and really faint line that took 25 minutes to appear this morning. Positive test was immediate!

8 hours later I then had a negative test!

Should say the positive was after I started to feel better ConfusedHmm

I’m not sure it’s related - I had no symptoms at all and had really strong lines!

Username3092997 · 26/01/2022 18:28

Not necessarily. Dd tested positive with strong lines for 10 days + and had no symptoms at all... my lines were much fainter than hers and went negative sooner and I had symptoms!

My DS had a very faint line throughout and had zero symptoms. Tested negative day 3.
My baby had a very mild fever for 12 hours only and had the darkest thickest line ever. I was so worried that it meant she would have lots of symptoms, however she was absolutely fine after 12 hours. The only symptom she has now is being off her food. She’s just not interested in food at the moment.

Thanks for all your replies, much appreciated. One week later, feeling absolutely fine and just glad its over and done with. In retrospect, i definitely had covid earlier in the week before i tested positive, with my cold symptoms. Its good to hear other people's experiences of covid on this forum.
