It's day 11 and finally able to leave the house. But i feel dreadful. Exhausted, nauseous, lower back pain, still coughing and congested. I was really hoping to feel better by now.

So much publicity and social media trivialises covid.
It's also true that many people have few or no symptoms.

I think that it then comes as a shock to those who are actually poorly. It's a very nasty virus, so many different symptoms, not to mention long covid. Remember "mild illness" medically means not needing hospital.

Don't push yourself too hard, build up slowly. If you are due back at work take more time off. You can self certify for 28 days.
I had Delta last summer (double jabbed) and ended up in hospital on day 11. It took me several weeks to fully recover.

Yes it is unfortunately a not uncommon response to covid infection. Omicron is not mild, it is just milder than Delta. But still more severe than original covid.

There is a lot of bullshit about it being mild.

Agree with teh post above - rest as much as you can and take your time before returning to work if that is possible.

I felt like this, got to day 14 and couldn't cope anymore. My GP said "it was going on too long" then diagnosed a secondary bacterial infection. I'm day 16 now and the antibiotics are kicking in, still not right but feel that I've turned a corner today. Covid really knocked me, I completely underestimated it because I was triple vaccinated, I thought it would be a "mild cold" as many on here and in the media have said.

GP said the cough can last 5 weeks.

Trying to walk before I can run!

Hi im on day 11 as well and still feeling awful. Im so tired. Feel very congested still and have a bad headache today as well. Just dont feel right. I hope you are feeling better soon

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling so frustrated by it. My kids recovered quickly but lack any compassion and my husband is up and down with it as well and no proper rest. Now is not a good time for me to take more time off work but I may have to.

I started feeling better day 12...but still feel a little muscle fatigue in my legs (but I also do a lot of walking w having 3 kids and a dog). So it is hard to tell if it is bc I am doing so much walking or bc of covid. My kids too had no symptoms and little compassion for me, as they had nothing so assumed I cant have any symptoms. Husband was negative and never caught it so he had no sympathy either! Thought I was milking it! It was terrible. It is crazy how everyone can have so many different symptoms....
