Anyone registered Covid positive tests using lateral flow only?

Does anyone know the answer to this question:
If you register positive lateral flow tests only rather than have a PCR then does it show up on your nhs health record as recovered from Covid? Has anyone done this since the government changed the policy on getting a pcr?

Reason for asking is that I need to be able to demonstrate reason for short delay in getting booster (travel related) and trying to decide if pcr is needed.

Not 100% sure but I expect so.

As far as I can tell based on very recent experience of both PCR and LFT reporting, you get the same contact tracing requests and a billion reminder texts whether you've logged a positive LFT yourself or had a PCR.

I believe they use the details you provide when logging a result to your NHS number (or you enter your NHS number if you know it) to ensure it's on your medical record.

There is no proof of recovery with just a LFT report currently.

No, otherwise people would game the system.

I’ve registered negative LFTs and they show up on my medical record so I can’t see why a positive wouldn’t.

I've found that t and t seem to be alerted via different routes.

I've had to do the process twice for my pre schooler as they had a lft and a pcr.

Pcr caller had no record of what the lft caller had recorded 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes it does. I process these in a gp practice. We only get to see the positive ones but the negative ones do show up on your nhs app.

So anyone could claim to have a positive LTF and gets a 'recovered from Covid' status?!Hmm

Blubells · 23/01/2022 12:34

Being 'recovered' often means no need for vaccination in many countries, so surely it can't be that easy to 'fake'??

Yes I currently have it (confirmed by LFD test), and the NHS app knows about it. For example I can't view my covid pass on there because it knows I've an active infection. Says I've got to wait until my 10 days are up before it'll be accessible again.

Maybe it only counts for travel purposes of it has been confirmed by a PCR?

Yes it does!! I've done mine for last week. As long as test & trace has been in contact it gets registered.
