If dc tested positive on Tuesday morning (and negative 2 days before on the usual Sunday LFT), until when would I be at risk of catching it and testing positive? I've tested negative until yesterday, she still had a faint line, am I still in the danger zone? TAI.

I tested positive on Tuesday morning and my DS was positive this morning so that’s 5 days in. Younger DS and DH still negative for now but nothings promised!!

They say as a contact to LFT for 7 days after contact, so I reckon once 7 days has passed you’re probably ok.

Sorry to hear you tested positive @whiteonesugar. I hope you will not have any symptoms or only mild ones. I will test later, let's see.

@500LittleViolas I was pretty rough last week but feeling much better now. My DS is absolutely fine so far.

All the people I know who have tested positive after a household member has, has been on or around 5 days after

lexi873 · 23/01/2022 14:46

Sorry but I don’t think you’re out of the danger zone yet, my son got a positive lft Monday evening and I’ve just had a positive one today- I really thought I’d dodged it! Sad

500LittleViolas · 24/01/2022 13:43

Tested positive after all. It was a matter of time, wasn't it.

@lexi873, how are you feeling? Thanks I'm not feeling too great.

6 days after first exposure in my case. I didn't ensure any social distancing. I hope that doesn't mean that I have bagged a huge viral load Confused. I'm up to date with vaccines and booster.

Any tips form those who've been through it recently? What can I expect?

DH tested positive today, 6 days after me.

@500LittleViolas I had a couple of days of feeling really rough, horrible headache, sore throat, generally feeling rough and very tired.

Day 3/4 I think I got very congested and was coughing.

Day 8 after symptoms today and my test is very faint and I feel better but still got a cough.

whiteonesugar · 24/01/2022 13:55

Should say. 2 jabs but no booster here

500LittleViolas · 24/01/2022 14:27

Thanks @whiteonesugar, I hope your cough gets better soon.

That's really interesting that several are now saying 6 days to catch it from household transmission - when the government push after 5 days as the safe zone!
