Has anyone done a test for whatever reason last day 10 and it was still a positive or faint positive?

Just interested to see if anyone else has had a positive lateral flow past the day 10-14 mark. I had a faint positive on day 16-17 🤦‍♀️

Person I work with positive day 12 but was back in work day 9! Coughing over everyone blaming HR for making them come back to work when they still felt ill. Moaned for the entire 8 hour shift! Shit long day that was

My sons was still positive day 9. Haven't tested since, just let him finish his isolation when he was allowed to then went back to normal.

Positive and I'm day 16. It has faded though. I've had to continue isolation due to my temperature being high - which I now know is from a secondary infection.

I havd heard of a few at work with a positive lf beyond day 10

Pretty sure that you’re meant to test negative before isolation ends. I don’t think it’s/ was a case of 10 days and you’re back out there no matter what.

Yes, 2 of my kids were giving faint positive results every day from d5 to d10. That was with flowflex brand LFD tests. On day 11 I tested them with orient gene LFDs and they both were negative. Expect a flowflex would still be giving a faint line though. My other child was using orient gene tests all along and she tested negative on those on her day 5 and 6.

Official guidance is to stop testing on day 10, and as long as you no longer have a fever, you're safe to stop isolating.

Oh that’s good to know. So if my DD is still testing positive on day 10 she can stop self isolation? I know the rules are different and she can also stop after 2 consecutive negatives day 5 + but does it still apply that she can go back to school after day 10 regardless of LFT then? (Currently day 7 and positive)

Yes, after 10 days you can leave isolation unless you still have a temperature. Doesn't matter what the LFT says. The only time the test determines you leaving isolation is if you leave early by having a negative test on day 5 and then a negative test on day 6 at which point you can immediately stop isolation.

Good to know there’s an end in sight @Katerurn! Thank you.

Yeah - my kids school tried insisting on a negative test before returning even after day 10 and track and trace got in touch with them to confirm that once the 10 days is done, your isolation is complete and you don't need a negative test. They also confirmed that you can test positive on a lft for weeks afterwards, so to wait for a negative result after you've done your 10 days would potentially mean ages off school unnecessarily. You only need negative tests to end isolation earlier. No test needed after 10 full days (day of positive results being day 0)

My brother was faintly positive on day 14 still
