When did you test negative?

I had a faint positive LFT on Sunday and have been isolating since. I took tests on day 5 (Friday), day 6 and today. All instantly positive and really dark after the full time. I don’t feel I’m going to get a negative any time soon.

How long did it take for your tests to come back negative?

I had very dark positives up until day 10. Day 10s was faint but visible, but morning of day 11 there was nothing there at all!

Day 12

I’ve lost hope that I ever will!

Day 19/20 now (? lost count to be fair). The line is still coming up strong before the control line has even been reached by the water.

I need to get to see my dad in a care home, you do a LFT when you turn up, I’m only testing as Ill just be turned away after a long journey and then a looooong wait to be told it’s positive.

I can only go at weekends, so i’ll test next saturday and hopefully, it will be negative so I can go.

I didn’t have awful symptoms either and what I did have didn’t last long.

I really hope your tests are negative next week so you can see your dad.

Thanks.

I’ve spoken to the care home. He doesn’t understand and is very angry with me. He’s too hard of hearing to speak on the phone and to be honest, phone calls don’t really work for him with his dementia.

He thinks we’ve abandoned him there Sad

Did people continue with their isolation or go back out into the world if they were still testing positive after day 10?

Oh, that’s heartbreaking! I’m so sorry for both of you. Flowers

I had covid last month. Lft caught it early before symptoms started, negative by day 8 I believe. Dd was asymptomatic and still had a lien right at the end.

Dd now she covid again and was negative by day 5, then again at 6! She still had a line on day 4 though, so don't give up hope of being negative soon!

I took a test on Sunday morning because I was going to be sitting in an office with my Dad (he’s vulnerable and I’d been in London the day before). That test was negative. I took another test Sunday evening as I need to for work and there was a faint line so I clearly caught it early. It was so faint I nearly threw it away but DH could see it too. I’m glad I didn’t otherwise I might not have tested again until Wednesday and would have spread my covid around.

Apart from sudden awful headaches and a cold, I’ve not had many symptoms. The headaches seemed to have stopped by day 5 so I was hopeful for a negative for DD’s birthday yesterday. No such luck!
