Feel ill but testing negative - anyone?

DH and DD are positive since Tuesday, infectious before I think because she was complaining of tiredness over last weekend, been around each other but I have masked up quite a bit since yesterday. DH positive yesterday but no symptoms.

I feel ill, have had nausea, dizzyness, fatigue, headache, sore back, diarrhoea, ear ache, muscle pain. BUT all LFT negative. Have done a PCR today but assume that will be negative too. I WFH, use a mask anywhere I go (don't go anywhere other than outdoor walks!) surely this can't be coincidence?

Anyone have this situation with the tests? I am dbl vaxxed and have had Covid before, feels VERY similar but much much milder.

Similar, DD tested positive on Wednesday, DS has similar symptoms but testing negative on lft and now a pcr. Me and DH are coughing and very tired, lfts negative and waiting for PCR results. Just feels like a waiting game.!

Realitea · 22/01/2022 18:52

My ds tested positive today and I woke up feeling so unwell I just knew I had it too. I’ve been getting negative LF results. Just booked a PCR.

KarlUrbansWife · 22/01/2022 20:03

Yes. DD tested positive on LFT today (PCR result pending), I started with a scratchy throat last night and feel drained with a mild headache today but 2x LFTs negative. I am expecting to be positive in the next few days.

Rainbowsandstorms · 22/01/2022 20:09

LFT aren’t as sensitive as PCRs so take longer to show positive. Me and DH both currently have covid and both had symptoms for over 24 hours before getting a positive LFT, so keep testing. On the day I got my positive LFT, I had a negative first thing in the morning and a positive six hours later. Swab your throat too, even if it’s only a nose one as Omicron is easier to detect in the throat than the nose in early stages. I hope you feel better soon.

I've just tested positive on a PCR after feeling absolutely shocking. I haven't tested positive on an LFT however.

You'll be testing positive within a day or so, I reckon. I'd isolate tbh.

Just before Xmas my daughter and son both had covid. At the same time, myself my husband and our other two children were really ill. High temps, fatigue, terrible headaches, body aches but none of us tested positive. In total we had 3 PCR tests (following advice from track and trace) and daily lat flows for a whole 2 week period. It was bizarre. In fact we were a lot worse than my two children who did test positive. Their main symptom was a headache and they felt a lot better by about day 4. We did all isolate though

Locoooomotive · 23/01/2022 22:08

Yeah it's bizarre, I am still negative, day 4 of symptoms now, will keep testing of course. My symptoms are really pretty mild, maybe I am not ill enough to trigger a positive as I've had covid plus 2 vaccines. Or perhaps it will show up in the next few days. Having said that DH has no symptoms only a bit tired and he is positive!

Oh and yes I am swabbing throat and nose as I had read about that.

Im experiencing the exact same thing. Both my daughter and i started getting symptoms on monday. Both of us were literally sleeping all of yesterday and full blown symptoms.

She's positive and I'm negative.

Im very confused as well literally fell ill on the exact same day and I've also had covid before and feel exactly how i felt before. Body aches, headache, temp and cough

Did a retest this morning and I'm still negative. Weird.

Locoooomotive · 26/01/2022 12:29

@indie123 I think it's immunity from previous infection + vaccines. I am still negative, day 8 now and I feel quite a lot better now, still some mild symptoms but fading off. Both DH and DD positive but DD now well and testing negative for 2 days (day 9 for her) so she's back in school now. DH also well again and only very faint line on his test now (day 5 i think for him, lost track). I am improved and still negative. Confused but just hoping i stay on the up...

Oh and also I did do an antibody test in Dec and i was still pretty high (1800 U/ml) so I guess maybe that has helped plus the previous infection in 2020 despite me not having had a booster.

I tested positive on D8, just as I was feeling better from symptoms like yours. Was very disappointed to continue to be positive until D10 after the positive LFT, although it's very faint now.

No temperature at all (was checking regularly and rest of family did albeit briefly for the kids). I think the sheer viral load of 2 kids climbing all over me was too much for my immunity...

Steelesauce · 26/01/2022 12:43

I am so poorly, full flu symptoms and 2 out of 3 kids are the same. All negative on LFDs, my work PCR came back negative today which I took Monday the day before my symptoms started. Weve been for PCRs today and were isolating until the results as I am convinced it is covid. The symptoms are way worse then when I had covid pre-vaccine days which is weird as I am fully vaccinated and assumed I'd be less poorly if I caught it now. My children's school is full of covid right now.

Ruralbliss · 26/01/2022 12:45

I tested negative long after symptoms started and so did my daughter.

Phillipa12 · 26/01/2022 12:54

My eldest, age 13 tested positive for covid on Sunday. I have had a full blown head cold with nausea since Saturday, multiple lfts and pcrs are all negative.

CallmeHendricks · 26/01/2022 13:24

Me too.
Two negative LFTs each day and a negative PCR yesterday.
Feel absolutely rubbish.

indie123 · 27/01/2022 12:30

Update

Symptoms started Monday. Lft negative monday, tuesday and Wednesday.

Turned positive today thursday

Locoooomotive · 27/01/2022 12:53

Update here, symptoms started last Thursday so 7 days now, been testing daily, still negative. DD and DH positive but now both negative and OK, I have felt all the same stuff but remained negative! Confusing but starting to feel better now so hopeful that was it and it's over. Or at least my antibodies are working :-)
