Lateral flow tests

I have had Covid for 6 days . I tested using some old LF tests . They were still in date but some of the fluid had evaporated so had to use two little packs. The result was negative . I tested later with a test from a new pack and it’s still a faint positive. Does the quality of the tests deteriorate?

Probably, but if they’re still in fate then they’re still valid, and I would use them as normal.

What was the point of using the old tests if you then used a new one as well, you've used 3 tests. Whrn the first one came us as negative why would you test again?

sandgrown · 22/01/2022 11:37

@lazypuppy. I didn’t want to waste the old tests as they are in short supply but was concerned that though they were in date the testing liquid had started to evaporate. My return to work is dependent on the tests so I did a new one just to be sure and the result was different.

Do you still have a fever? I would ask someone to get you a new box if you’re not sure.

The boxes do have an expiry date.

No fever . In fact I feel quite well . Will test again tomorrow (day 7) with the new tests.
