Symptoms and negative LFT

Sore throat and headache. Normally I'd say I'd got a cold coming. LFT tonight negative.

Does this mean I need to PCR? I'm so confused over what we are supposed to do now!

Yes, you ought to do a pcr

Yes, LFT negative but you have symptoms then you need a PCR test to confirm either way.

Trouble is these are not the official symptoms still but my son had this and did lft as requested which were negative then after 3 days had a very faint positive on one but clear in another so we took him for a pcr which came back positive, they need to update the symptoms
Today i have woken with slight headache and runny nose but have clear LFT but not sure if i trust it
Im home going nowhere anyway but will see how i get on tomorrow with Lft but if i feel same or worse im going to lie and go for pcr to confirm

Just tested positive on pcr( lft still negative ) I don't really have symptoms i had a headache weds which went with 1 ibuprofen so didn't think anything of that and negative lft anyway and yesterday upon waking i had slight runny nose , today i feel light headed / foggy a bit so went for pcr ( lft today negative too) result back really quick and I am positive too , maybe just picked up early so not many symptoms yet or picked up late and actually did have on weds who knows as lft test showing negative

Yes if you have symptoms you should do a pcr. Sometimes an lft will not pick it up.

Although you haven't got one of the main three to book pcr test by just say you do anyway, they don't check. The symptom lists needs updating. Dd has had covid. She's had none of the main three - she's had slight sore throat, sneezing and sore eyes/nose. All very mild and no other symptoms. No cough, no fever and she can definitely still smell as they are spreading muck locally (rural life) and she keeps saying it's making her feel sick 😅
