Postal PCR times

Does anyone have any experience of the timings around postal PCRs please?

I've had a void drive through PCR result come through this morning, so I've ordered a postal test to do at home, under the supervision of my HCP DH this time. I know I could have got them to administer at the test centre but it's a trek away.

If I ordered it this morning, does it come as an extra postal delivery or will it be in the normal mail tomorrow morning? My drive through results came back really quickly so I'm hoping they'll be back in time for work on Monday!

PCR's in our area usually come as a separate delivery later in the day. I sent a postal one off in Mondays post and got the result on Tuesday evening.

We waited 5 days for results.
Much quicker going to test centre in my area.

Ours came in normal post on Tuesday we managed to get them posted back the same day, and had results by Wednesday dinnertime.

Thanks all! It arrived this morning, so 24 hrs after ordering, but still in time for the Saturday post. Really hoping it'll be back in time and doesn't take 5 days!

I've had good experiences with postal PCRs - every time we've ordered one it came in the next morning's regular post. Caught the return post the same day and had the result by text and email within 24hrs of posting it. Did one last week - posted it at 4pm, result was back before 9am the next morning.

I've had them come back in 24 hours, 3 days and 5 days. It's pot luck unfortunately.

Results were back overnight, after being posted just before 12 yesterday. Unfortunately they were negative!
