Faint positive on LFT

Ds just had a faint positive on lft
But it was older green packet style one and we had no instructions left so swabbed nose and throat with swab from another packet type as we have no new ones as ordered a week ago and still waiting
Could taking throat when only meant to be nose and swab from another brand cause a false positive?
Its a really faint line just about readable but he has stayed home just incase

Just had notification that the lft i ordered last week are arriving today
The particular brand used my other ds tested positive on a few months back confirmed with a PCr so maybe they are more sensitive
Think we will redo the lft when new packet arrives , if positive then we know right if negative think we will have to take him for a pcr to be sure

Swapping the actual bud part won’t make a difference but you need to use the solution and plastic reader bit that came together (I can’t work out which bit you have swapped).
Even so I think positive is positive regardless.

We did use the liquid and reader from same packet just the swab from left from another packet

Well pcr back and he is positive
Funny it was this brand that my other son tested positive on as well
He had headache weds and very slight sore throat but negative LFT weds and thursday , someone at work mon tested positive on tues so most likely caught it then, but wonder if he did indeed have it weds after all
Rest of us all testing negative so far

This happened to me. Rest of the family then got it two days later so be prepared.

Read that the nose only tests are missing positives that throat plus nose swabs pick up. Have a search for that, but it is likely to be a proper positive.

@bowlingalleyblues he actually did a nose only one but did do his throat as well as we lost the instructions so wasn't sure so did both and had one left and was awaiting delivery
He had been doing nose only as has done a daily test now for close on 2 weeks as cases at work kept happening
Had my pack delivered that we were waiting on and have been sent nose and throat ones this time

@Hidingattheback my other ds had it in october so hoping he doesn't get again, we all avoided it then but he isolated well, he only had his second jab about 10 days ago due to being positive and having to wait so not sure if he will have some immunity for previous case or the jab
Not sure we will be so lucky this time
Me and dh both have had 3 vaccinations so hoping if we get its mild
