Covid passport (or any replacement document) for under 16?

Hello!
DD is 15 years old, got 2nd vaccination yesterday, how do I get travel covid passport for her?
In www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/get-digital-covid-pass/ they say under 16s cannot get one - honestly I've no idea why.
So do NSH issue any kind of replacement document?
We must travel to Canada on Easter, as I have not seen my mum for 5 years now, but Canada strictly require 2 vaccines and anyone without cannot even enter the country and stay in quarantine.
Will appreciate any help.

You can get a letter sent. Think you call 119 for it

www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/covid-pass/get-your-covid-pass-letter/

You can also order here. Sent within a few days

Though be aware that the QR code only lasts a month so you need to time ordering it. You can replace it though

I was literally starting to think about this today, as we fly on the 12th!

Now ordered, and can relax. Just to find a PCR test for the youngest.

Many thanks, it is a great relief!

If it lasts for just one month, your travel cannot last for more than 1 month :(

The QR code only lasts a month yes. It depends I guess on what the rules are once you are in that place in terms of needing a QR code. If you dont it is similar to an ESTA/EtA in that it gets you into the country and then as an under 18 year old need to show it to enter back into the UK.

You can get the paper version. You can request it on the app. I've done this for my 15y old.

I read yesterday with the new announcements that they will make the app available for under 16s in time for half term. Not sure I trust that to become reality so have just ordered the paper version to prove son's second vaccination. Has anyone had experience of how long it usually takes to arrive?

It took exactly a week for my 12 year olds to arrive.

Thanks. Everything crossed! I also read that grant shapps has announced that under 16s should have access to nhs digital covid pass will be available on 3rd feb. Not sure I believe him though!

I ordered 14yos qr code on Sunday online and it arrived today (and he now has a qr code on the French Covid app)

It does mean for France you couldn't really be away liner than 3 weeks to allow for the time for it to arrive
