Upset tummy - covid?

Dd 6 has cold. Mild like cold symptoms, second time shes had it in a short space of time.

Anyway, there's an outbreak in DS's class and he has his sister at home with it.. DS has had an upset tummy since the early hours. Numerous trips to the toilet and loose stools. He hasn't been in school today obviously.

Ds only had covid last month but then so did dd and she's got it again.

Can an upset tummy be a sign?

We no stomach issues with the last bout in December.

I intend to test him!

Yes it can be a sign, that's how it started for my son.

I had an upset stomach and a banging sore head on Saturday morning and it wasnt until I started coughing late Saturday night that I did a LFT which was positive as was the subsequent PCR.

Yes, in fact that’s the only symptom my dc have had. Particularly true with omicron I think.

Thank you. Like I said we've had covid recently and Dd has been very unfortunate to get it again. Last time we all had it and the kids caught it off me or dp, this time it's rife in the school.

No stomach issues last time.

I intend to test him but holding out til tomorrow cos testing him is hell and from experience today's could be negative and tomorrow positive - both with lft and pcr! He won't be in school tomorrow anyway as if it's not covid, it's some kind of bug, not Friday either under with the 48 hour rule!

Praying it's coincidental but expecting it to be covid.

How did you feel when you had an short tummy? He's fine in himself and wants to eat - which is probably making it worse but sticking to blander foods! He's fine in himself, just a little tired as he was up in the early hours going toilet.
