Constant positives on Lateral Flow

ConcernedAuntie · 19/01/2022 11:00

There have been a few threads on the subject of some people constantly testing positive with LFTs and negative on PCRs.

Some posters did say they were going to try get to the bottom of it.

I have tested positive on LFTs since August. I have written to my GP, Test and Trace, NHS England. No replies at all.

Has anyone had any sort of reply from the authorities about this issue and if so what was their response? Has anyone been given a reason why this happens?

Sorry if I have missed anything but it is really getting to me down.

Apparently it’s to do with reflux?

ConcernedAuntie · 19/01/2022 17:26

I don't have reflux. Confused

My daughter has had this - only with flow flex ones though.

hi OP i'm no expert either. I did find this thread on reddit which seems to have some info:

This happened to me for four months. Now I test negative on LFT - I'm not saying it's related, but I got boostered in December and I haven't had a positive LFT since then (but obviously didn't prepare for this theory by testing before and after etc....)
I had covid in Jan 2021 and didn't test positive on the LFT until end of August. Then I had a couple of negative tests and then consistent positive from October - November (I tested regularly through this period) and the start of December. Mostly flowflex but also the old style ones at first. I did four PCR that were all negative too.
