Does this one have to be taken at least 30 mins before any food like the others? It doesn't say so not sure. Only i testedmy boy on day 8 of isolation but adter dinner and it was darker not lighter but the morning after I did it way before food and it was much lighter.

Doesn't matter how light or dark it is as a positive is a positive. Or as you were doing it a day later then maybe he was shedding less virus

I think because the instructions say only to swab your nose, not your mouth, it doesn't matter when you last ate.

Flowflex are also nose only but they do state not to eat or drink. I always err on the side of caution though so don't do them soon after. As an aside you have to use them at room temperature so if you store them in a cold room you may get an inaccurate result

There is increasing research to say that omicron is more prevalent in the throat than the nose, especially in the early days of an infection - at work we have been asked to swab both nose and throat, whatever the instructions say. Therefore I would def leave it for half an hour after eating or brushing teeth. It can't hurt to do so if you want an accurate result.

I tested positive Sunday. Only after I swabbed my nose and throat.
Nose kept being negative.

My dh got his positive from nose only and so did my nephew and sister

Thanks everyone. I will probably do it before food just in case then. I'm hoping they won't change the test again lol I can only ever do the nose with my boys as they are under 5 and hard work. They've got used to the counting to 5 in each nostril now though. Poor bubs. I can't wait for spring when hopefully covid will be less prevalent.
