I've not knowingly had covid but since August I've felt sick. Waves of fatigue, lots of headaches, feeling run down etc.

Can the GP test for long covid? If it is long covid is therw even anything they can do?

Thanks

Sorry you're not feeling well. There isn't a test for long covid because it isn't a illness in itself, it is the after effects on your body of a virus. If you've not knowingly had covid, I would suggest you speak to your GP and get them to run tests, as it could be being caused by any number of other things.

Thanks. Yeah I keep putting it off. I guess if it's not covid then there's a possibility that it can be treated.

The doctor can’t test for long Covid but they can do bloods to check nothing else is going on.
I had Covid last October and have felt pretty rubbish ever since. My GP did some bloods and it turned out I had an under active thyroid and was anaemic. Don’t just assume it’s long Covid.

Your GP will book you in for blood tests and check your blood pressure to see if you anything that needs looking into. You cannot be referred to a long covid assessment if you haven’t actually tested positive for covid.
