2 x PCR Inconclusive, what should we do?

Morning all,

So both sons tested positive for covid last week. DH and I have both developed sore throats and coughs over the weekend.

As close contacts we went for PCRs on Saturday but DH was negative and mine was inconclusive.

I went for a follow up yesterday which came back inconclusive again. Meanwhile I did an LFT yesterday (photo) which I believe shows positive, although today the line is much fainter in the second one.

Should I still be going for the follow up PCR? And getting DH a PCR too as he also has a cough? Or just going by the LFT results?

So confused with the change in testing/isolating rules!

Thank you.

Yes, positive LFT plus symptoms means you should do a pcr

You both need to isolate, you come what may, your OH unless his negative PCR was after symptoms started, rather than, say early Saturday morning before they started.

Without symptoms, positive lateral flow, isolate, no need for PCR.

With symptoms, negative lateral flow, isolate, PCR.

Thank you both, I thought that was the case with having symptoms. Will get another one booked.
