Does anyone know what the incubation period is at the moment please?

Friend has been exposed to COVID on Friday/Saturday and we are supposed to be meeting on Wednesday. I'm concerned whether it will be safe.

Thanks

Think Omicron is supposed to only be a few days compared to the longer incubation period of the other versions

Will you all be doing LFT before meeting?

DeedIDo · 16/01/2022 18:57

I hadn't got that far, but yes, I can test and she may be able to. We have a box of tests at home. I don't know whether she still has.

I honestly think after catching it from my Niece over Christmas, the incubation period is about 48-72 hours.

Majority of symptomatic infections manifest within 10 days, 5% people can still get it after day 10. The variants are more transmissible and evade immunity more easily but incubation period has not changed.
