Taste changes

I’m on day 3 and yesterday, sweet potato fries and today, some crisps have both tasted vile. Hard to describe but kind of muddy, chemically taste, almost gone off. And it’s almost like I can smell it as I eat it, an after taste really. Other foods taste normal but I think a little more bland than pre covid.

I just wondered what others have experienced. Am I likely for this to be how more foods taste or could it just be certain foods?

I had the exact same. Smell was kind of fine, but everything tasted bland and certain foods tasted bitter. Also had a disgusting taste in my mouth for a couple of days.

Thanks also 2boysand1princess - reassuring the taste was just a couple of days. So did the foods that tasted bitter return to normal quite quickly?

It’s weird because all strong flavoured foods are kind of ok, but bland foods still have a hint of that bitter taste. I had covid 3 weeks ago approx

My sense of taste disappeared completely around day 6 but before that everything tasted salty.
