Do people fake lft test

Hi can people fake the test my son had a very strong test this morning. He doesn't like school much and is always trying to get time off.
Could he have done something to the test its sounds really bad me asking because it's my son. But he started smiling when it came back positive and he's been off school since Tuesday this week with diarrhea.

Yes. Use a fruit juice although I’m told anything slightly acidic would do.

They can but why not just supervise him doing another one? Diarrhoea is often a symptom.

Yep, get him to do another one under your supervision the whole time.

He brushed his teeth straight after the first one and I made him do it in front of me the line came up but not as strong. He's in his room now I have just made him so tea and toast. I will leave it till around 12 and make him do one again and not move anywhere.

Yes unfortunately with lemon juice apparently! Supervisor friend of a friend did as was sick of covering shifts and staff taking the piss .Had worked over Xmas and new year and had enough.

I would do another as others have said with supervision if you have doubt.

The second test not being as strong doesn’t mean anything. My daughter had a strong positive on old throat and nose tests but had eaten raspberries so did another test and it was not as strong.

If he’s had diarrhea that is a symptom especially on young people.

Not at the moment unless you have one of main symptoms you don’t get a PCR for positive LFT from last Monday.

Yes you can take him for a PCR- nobody is policing tests. However it would Sam more logical to wait an hour or so with him having no food or drink and then doing another LFT.

Out of interest, what kind are they? The orient gene test don't actually say no food or drink before. The flowflex do, despite being nasal only; but they have commonly reported false positive.

You don't have to now, but you can. Nothing is stopping you, just check the box to say he's got symptoms, no one checks.

Might fake an LFT myself, could do with a week off.

I ordered a pcr then did a surprise visit into his room with another lft test. He did it there straight away in front of me and gave me the test strip and it was positive straight away. Suppose he must have it and is happy about it as well.
