This new virus has spread quickly and has already infected the PM.He immediately decided to self isolate today!

Don't blame him. People have been ott with it. Workers in the same department going out in the garden for a drink isn't really a big deal.

heldinadream · 13/01/2022 19:08

@TalkToTheHand123 it wouldn't be a big deal if people hadn't been arrested and fined for going for walks, sitting on benches, and meeting up in tiny numbers.
But they bloody well were so it's a bloody enormous monumental gargantuan deal.

TalkToTheHand123 · 13/01/2022 19:21

Going for walks and sitting on benches after being in the car first for an hour or meeting people living half an hour away.

TalkToTheHand123 · 13/01/2022 19:22

Again though thats due to coppers letting the power go to their heads.

@TalkToTheHand123 Have you watched what Oliver Dowden said at the Downing Street briefing on the 20th May 2020?

Nope they haven't been ott.

They shouldn't have done it it wasn't a meeting if you believe that you are a idiot.

Every single person who has attended these party's is in the wrong.

These were the people who were making the laws not just anyone.

llanssannan · 13/01/2022 21:07

The PM is not infected, a family member is. My suspicion is it one of the many who he does not meet regularly.

WoodenReindeer · 13/01/2022 21:16

I didnt think close contacts needed to isolate anymore...

They have to minimise their contacts where possible.

So for example they can go to expensive dinners for people who want to give them money for favours, but can't go and talk to regular members of the public.

Twiglets1 · 14/01/2022 12:27

It’s funny because I work in a school and we’ve been told that even if a family member tests Positive staff should still come in. All we need to do is take a flow test daily apparently so someone should tell Boris the good news as he does struggle so to understand the rules

And this mattered because?

(and DON'T say "because you could have had an accident or broken down and killed the people who helped you).

Workers in the same department going out in the garden for a drink isn't really a big deal

It was when people living alone had not legally been able to see other people for 10 weeks and we'd only just opened up for outdoor exercise with one other person at that point. And even then we had overofficious police having a go at two women (of course women) going for a walk 5 miles away from their homes.

To be honest I think this government has done far worse things (super hard Brexit comes to mind). And I am concerned about who we get instead of Boris. But he's an entitled wotsit, even by Eton standards.

Againstmachine · 14/01/2022 18:39

I spent all them weeks alone, because I followed the rules at that time, I had a mental breakdown.

Stop minimising what they did it's fucking offensive to people who have suffered with physical and mental health, people who have lost jobs, lost businesses ect.

These people have contempt for the public.

Bluebluemoon39 · 14/01/2022 18:43

TalkToTheHand123 it wouldn't be a big deal if people hadn't been arrested and fined for going for walks, sitting on benches, and meeting up in tiny numbers.

They weren't though. It is and always was total BS fuelled by the media.

More fool you if you stringently "followed the rules".

I think people are becoming so enraged by it now bc they're realising how stupid they've been to just blindly go along with it all.

Againstmachine · 14/01/2022 18:45

Except many abuses of the law like the above did happen its not BS.

TalkToTheHand123 · 15/01/2022 01:03

The media basically forced MPs to agree to the rules. It's the same reason cannabis isn't legal. Too scared of the media. They weren't really expecting for people to follow the rules, just to be a bit sensible if they wanted to.

Booklover3 · 15/01/2022 02:22

He really does seem to struggle to understand his own rules doesn’t he?

Madmog · 15/01/2022 08:16

Close contacts don't need to isolate. We now know we don't need to worry about Boris, he's probably stocked up on red wine in case he has to have a socially distanced meeting with 40 others while he's in isolation.

And that's why we still have this charlatan as PM.
