Pfizer with Moderna booster

I'm having my booster on Monday and I've been told I have to let them know the day before whether I would like Pfizer or Moderna. My initial 2 doses were Pfizer. I've had a look at the government advice (I'm in Aus) but it doesn't recommend one over the other. The Pharmacist I spoke with recommended Moderna as they think it may be slightly more effective against Omicron.

Does anyone know of any studies which has shown which is best - same type vaccines or a combination? I'm breastfeeding if that has any significance.

If anyone has done Pfizer then Moderna, I would love to know if you had any different side effects?

I had the two Pfizer and Moderna booster combo. No side effects with any of them. Same with my partner.

Anecdotally, we both spent 3 different occasions over Christmas with friends/family who tested positive within a day of us seeing them and neither of us caught Covid.

I had this combo and I have come into contact with several + cases. Currently waiting to see my fate as last contact was the other day. Booster was December

I had 2 Pfizer and the Moderna booster. I felt a bit achy the day after the booster, but carried on with normal activities. No idea about the effectiveness.

I had 2 Pfizer and the moderna booster, I too felt a bit achy and had a sore arm the following but carried on as normal. I tested positive last month and had no symptoms other than a temperature for a couple of days. No idea if this was down to the booster?

I was given the choice too, and as I hadn't had time to research Moderna I went with Pfizer.

Moderna out performs Pfizer.

Moderna following Pfizer Pfizer is the strongest option on the planet at this time. Having since researched Moderna.

In my research I came across a Study in America as they gave Moderna in the initial roll out. They were looking at outcomes from admissions to icu and subsequent deaths. They be looked at Pfizer, Johnson and Johnson and Moderna.

Figures for those who had Moderna couldn't be collated, because there were none! No-one was admitted to icu. And no-one died.

I'd go for Moderna!

I had Pfizer and then moderna for my booster. I live in Spain and they are only offering moderna for boosters as they think that's the best against new varients

Thank you! Good to hear what others have done. Going to try and do a bit more reading but I think I'm leaning towards Moderna.
