Confused!!

So I tested positive yesterday have a sore scratchy throat, headache and sniffles. My 10 year old has the same symptoms as me is currently testing negative but have kept him off school as I'm assuming there must be a delay in symptoms starting and a positive test, as I first began to feel unwell Sunday. Has anyone else found this and would we take our self isolation period from the day symptoms started or positive lat flow? I'm just concerned he will miss more school as it's taking a while for a positive test to show but neither of us have the main 3 symptoms to order a PCR.

Book a pcr for him. When it asks you if you have one of the main three symptoms, just say you do. They don't check and honestly the government need to update their measly list of symptoms. Sometimes lft's don't pick it up for days, sometimes it does. Hugely depends. I wouldn't rely on them.

Thanks, to add to annoying circumstances my car battery has died and my husband is carless at the moment so I have ordered a PCR and asked his school to send some work! They were thankful I'm keeping him off so happy to do so!
