Terrible fatigue after Moderna booster

Hi,
Had 2 x Pfizer vaccines and then moderna booster yesterday. Completely wiped out and reminds me of post viral fatigue that I had after Covid last year. Anyone else? Am off work today but hoping to be back tomorrow as my students have an exam next week 😕

This is normal and lasts about 24-48hrs (I was about 36 or so)

Should trend down quickly after that which was a nice change from AZ (awful side effects for me).

Fedupmum13 · 11/01/2022 14:55

Gosh, lasted a while for you then? Definitely don't want covid again as I had long covid but this has totally wiped me.

Yes, same combo and very tired but it only lasted a couple of days. It's just an immune response - your body believes it's fighting a virus, so wants you to rest.

I felt much better by the afternoon of the second day.

Ah that's good to hear, thanks. I was so poorly with post viral fatigue after covid that this has made me feel really anxious.

I experienced the same, and I had Moderna for my first two jabs. I had crushing fatigue with the booster that I didn't have at all with the first two. It was brutal, honestly.

Fedupmum13 · 11/01/2022 15:14

Awful isn't it? Can barely walk downstairs to get a drink

It is normal and you should be feeling better tomorrow. The after affects have been compared to chronic fatigue syndrome! Try to rest and drink plenty

Fedupmum13 · 11/01/2022 15:23

Thank you, yep it feels identical to that!

Same here, absolutely fine after initial AstraZeneca jabs then wiped out with tiredness after Moderna booster. Only the day after having the booster though, was fine the day after that.

Fedupmum13 · 11/01/2022 15:28

Oh reassuring it was only the one day! Fingers crossed I'll wake feeling good tomorrow 🤞

I was wiped out for a week….

Covidwoes · 11/01/2022 20:11

I posted about Moderna the other day! I felt pretty awful the evening/day after mine. The headache was intense, and I had a fever and awful fatigue. I had mine on Sunday, and now feel completely fine.

Fedupmum13 · 11/01/2022 21:55

Oh plenty of us feeling rubbish after it then! I feel better this eve hope I feel good when I wake

Same combo here, I'm lucky and I'm rarely ill but the booster completely wiped me out for about 36-40 hours I was really unwell alongside the horrendous muscle ache and no energy. Hope you are brighter soon.

scaredsadandstuck · 11/01/2022 22:02

I was wiped out for 36 hours after Moderna booster. But fine after that. Had jab on a Tuesday morning about 10. Started feeling rough about tea time that day. Lost whole of weds feeling awful. Woke up Thursday morning feeling much, much better, totally fine by Friday. Lemsip, bed and plenty of sleep. Hope you feel better soon.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 11/01/2022 22:02

I was absolutely wiped out the day after the day after my moderna vaccine, I’d had nothing after my AZ jabs.

WhatIsThisPlease · 11/01/2022 22:03

Same here only mine was Pfizer.

I had it the day before NYE and for two nights I was in bed for 8pm. Slept through all the fireworks at midnight.

Ginandplatonic · 11/01/2022 22:03

Yep. Had moderna booster (after AZ first course) the day before yesterday. Felt like shit yesterday - fever, muscle aches, fatigue, headache and dreadful nausea. Couldn’t get out of bed. Almost back to normal today thank god. It was no fun at all!

I had my Moderna booster and felt terrible for 24 hours then slowly felt better. One day off work. The second day tired but back to work, in a school so hectic.
