Symptoms or lateral flow test?

Hi,

I got a text from my manager saying my isolation ends today. I was confused because my lateral flow test was positive Friday and PCR came back positive Saturday. My company goes by lateral flow and now they won't be doing PCR no more. My symptoms started Wednesday night and Thursday morning.
I realized he said 7 days from the Thursday. He gave me extra days off because I go back Sunday as I work in retail.

Can someone explain if my son had symptoms on weekend and we couldn't get him lateral flow test until yesterday. Does he go back Monday or Tuesday ? As it's 7 days.

He can only go back if he tests negative on day six and 7. It should be from date of symptoms if clear COVID symptoms but my experience is test and trace insist on going by date of LFT if not clear COVID symptoms.

Day of symptoms would be day zero so symptoms on Sunday means Monday would be day one, he would do a LFT on Saturday and Sunday and only if both of those are negative goes back Monday. If they are still positive he continues to isolate until he has two days negative or reaches day ten.

Nobody goes back before 10 days isolation unless they get 2 negative lateral flow tests taken 24 hours apart starting no earlier than 6 days after symptoms/or the test if no symptoms. If its positive on day 6 or 7 then isolation continues until you get 2 negative results or you reach the end of day 10

That's the thing I am expected back on Sunday and just hope I don't still feel rubbish as the symptoms are coming and going. I did my lateral test today basing it on symptoms last Thursday. Even though was negative. It shows second line a bit. I will test tommorow and see too. I just hope I don't feel ill again before due back. I can't take no more time off.

If your lateral flow test today still shows a bit of a line, then its positive not negative.
