Two different end of isolation dates

Which do I use?

Symptoms began PM Saturday 8th

I PCR'd yesterday with a positive result reported today

The app says I have 10 days to isolate - ending 23.59 on 19th.

The text from test and trace says 23.59 on 18th.

Is the 13th or 14th my day 6?

Day 0 - 8th (symptoms)
Day 1 - 9th
Day 2 - 10th
Day 3 - 11th
Day 4 - 12th
Day 5 - 13th
Day 6 - 14th (1st LFT)
Day 7 - 15th (2nd LFT)
Day 8 - 16th (earliest isolation ends if LFTs negative)
Day 9 - 17th
Day 10 - 18th
Day 11 - 19th (isolation definitely ends)

Biscuitsandgravyagain · 10/01/2022 20:47

When I say isolation ends I mean 11.59 the night before... So that's the first day you're allowed out.

MsBananas · 10/01/2022 20:48

I’ve got this, too.

App says isolate until 13th Jan at 11.59pm

Test & Trace says ‘14th Jan (including this date)’

I tested positive on a LFT on 3rd Jan and a PCR on 4th Jan.

Hmmmm….

It depends which symptoms, we only go by a cough, fever or anosmia for isolation to start from symptoms otherwise it would be from the test. If you had any of those symptoms on the 8th, your isolation ends at midnight on the 18th

Is isolation still 10 days where you are? It's 7 here now.

dementedpixie · 10/01/2022 21:04

It's only 7 days isolation if you get a negative LFT on day 6 and 7 though

@Biscuitsandgravyagain

Day 0 - 8th (symptoms) Day 1 - 9th Day 2 - 10th Day 3 - 11th Day 4 - 12th Day 5 - 13th Day 6 - 14th (1st LFT) Day 7 - 15th (2nd LFT) Day 8 - 16th (earliest isolation ends if LFTs negative) Day 9 - 17th Day 10 - 18th Day 11 - 19th (isolation definitely ends)
The rules say you can leave isolation on day 7 if you have negative LFTs on day 6 and 7.
Biscuitsandgravyagain · 11/01/2022 12:52

Apologies, i read "You can stop self-isolating after 7 days if you do a rapid lateral flow test on days 6 and 7 of your self-isolation period and:

both tests are negative
you did both tests at least 24 hours apart
you do not have a high temperature" (from nhs website)

to mean you had to wait until day 8.. As after 7 days would been you have to complete the 7th day?

Caddycat · 11/01/2022 13:08

@Biscuitsandgravyagain, it says you can leave isolation on or after day 7, implying you can straight after your day 7 test. The FAQs also say that if you test positive on day 6, but negative on 7 and 8, you can stop isolating on day 8. All irrelevant to me, I'm still positive Grin
