Tested Friday, positive this morning.

I felt horrible for the first 36 hours, feverish, wanted to sleep lots etc.

First days and a half of symptoms i slept for probably 20 out if 36 hours. Was ill for the rest. Now I cant sleep.

Last night, managed 4 hours. Tonight I am wide awake wondering when I will Sleep!

Anyone else?

I was going to post the same thread - however unfortunately I am on day 17 since symptoms began, so past the ‘ill’ phase and apparently I’m recovered (bollocks) so this may not be comforting to you!

I’ve had the most godawful insomnia for the past 4 days - not falling asleep until 5 or 6am. My heart races and I also have the Covid stomach pains, which don’t help. Dreading work tomorrow. NHS does give insomnia as a post-Covid side effect. Yay.

OMG I'm lying here wide awake- day 16- and after the initial sleeping the sleep of the dead I cannot sleep! I'm someone who can sleep anywhere anytime and it's really freaking me out. I did not know it was a listed symptomConfused. This explains it. It'd better not bloody Last!

Oh dear, didn't realise it was a recognised symptom!

Managed a couple of hours on the sofa from 2-5. Still very tired but only on day 5 so at least i can nap during the day!

Yup, I’m the same, about 3 weeks into a positive test (so recovered). I haven’t had the booster yet - have any of you? Never had a problem with sleep before. I think Omicron seems to have a bigger impact neurologically?

I'm the same. My booster was ironically booked for the 28th and I was positive on Xmas morning Confused.

It's the fact I had Delta in Sep 20 with no vaccines and I was largely fine - tired for 2 weeks then grand- but now with Omicron supposedly milder I'm totally floored wit it. I'm still exhausted- can't do much, housework is shattering, sitting on the sofa is as much as I can manage. I'm never off work and was supposed to be back last Wed. It's very frustrating.

I had it in December and and kept waking up in the middle of the night with my heart pounding, head racing with thoughts and with horrible feelings of dread and worry and it would take ages to get back to sleep. I’ve never suffered any type of anxiety in my life but it felt like what I would imagine a panic attack to feel like?

I’m fully recovered now I have been sleeping better this week though. But I’ve also been eating better, drinking lots of water and trying to wind down and relax more in the evenings. Plus I’ve started re-taking 5HTP supplements which I find definitely help. I take one in the morning and one in the evening… may be worth a try?!

I had the same! I'm quite an insomniac anyway though so wasn't sure if it was covid related.
