Your friend is an idiot. There's no proof or reason why your symptoms would be worse. Try to calm down, take it day by day x

Hi - sorry you are worried Brew

Your symptoms will not be worse than if you had not had the vaccine, as far as I am aware.

I understood (I am not a medical person!) the reason it is not advised to have the vaccine when positive ro soon after is because you then can't tell what is a covid symptom and what is a post-vaccine symptom.

I really hope that everyone has mild symptoms.

I caught it 3 days after my booster. I was the same amount of ill as my Dp, if that helps!

Andacherryonthetop · 09/01/2022 19:52

My sister got it 2 days after her booster. She was more ill than my mum who had her booster a few months back but less ill than my other sister who didn’t have the booster yet. All 3 were ok though

Hi OP. I posted a very similar question on the board an hour or so ago! Seems like there’s a few of us now.
Take a look at my thread you will find some really reassuring posts there:
My post is titled:
“Anyone had a covid vaccine and caught covid within a week?”

2boysand1princess · 09/01/2022 20:20

I’m the other way round though. I had very mild covid that the first pcr didn’t pick up. Lfts came up with faint positive lines only.
I went to my booster appt and told doctor there and they said it was fine to get the booster as the pcr overruled the lfts. So I went ahead and got the booster.
Anyway, I came home and because I’m an anxious person I did another lft and to my horror it was darker! I am now panicking that I was given the wrong advice based upon the fact I had a negative pcr, but I now know that I 100% had covid without the typical symptoms and I ended up getting a booster.
According to my mild symptoms, I had the booster a week after the symptoms began.

Cookerhood · 09/01/2022 20:23

I'm sorry, OP, I know you are worried. No-one knows if you get worse symptoms or not because it's impossible to say. The reason they say not to get the vaccine when you have Covid us because it's impossible to separate symptoms & side effects. Your friend doesn't know either, ignore her & I hope you are ok.

Thank you for being kind.
