Coming out of isolation question

Hi, apologies if this is a silly question, but I'm a bit confused. My DS tested positive for Covid very late on Tuesday night, was borderline Wednesday morning. I'm taking Wednesday as day 1 as advised by his school. I understand that he needs to do lateral flow tests on days 6 and 7 (which will be Monday and Tuesday) and that he can return to school if these are negative. Does this mean he can go back to school on day 7 (Tuesday) if he's negative, obviously if he does his test first thing. Thanks

Yes as soon as you test negative on day 7 you can go straight out - providing your day 6 was also negative obvs

Yes.
Last Tuesday would be day 0
Next Tuesday is day 7. Technically you’re supposed to do the LFTs 24 h apart so make sure you do the day 6 one early too.

The letter we had from school said that they could go back on day 8 providing 6&7 were negative.

Brilliant thats what I thought. Thanks

Government guidance is clear that isolation can finish on day 7 if clear lft but I suppose schools can set their own
