Hi all,

It's all really happened so fast and honestly have no idea where I got this.
My first thought would be my work as I work in retail.
I was away visiting my mother for new years. I had gone church the Sunday.
I had to stay extra day with my mother until Monday because she not been well. Just bad lower back, legs etc. I know now that's a sign of Covid.
Any went work on my Monday and I did feel okay until a colleague said my chest sounded heavy but I get like that sometimes anyway. I felt okay and Tuesday my legs were aching so bad in the morning nearly didn't go work but thought it was my fibromyalgia. I took painkillers and by afternoon was okay.
Wednesday evening I had a very bad cough. Thursday woke up feeling very congested and like I got a cold. So took lateral flow test positive. I sent my PCR off and it's positive.

Do you contact people yourselves if family or friends? Or do you do contact tracing?

It's strange because my son is okay and my hubby had booster today.
I know they both will need to keep testing.

I am just not sure what next.

Do I continue to do lateral flow test? I go back to work which I am on rota for next Sunday.

Do I need to let my son's school know? Or just wait until he gets symptoms or positive?

You do the contact tracing forms that will have been emailed to you. Test and Protect will decide who close contacts are and will contact them. Contact your work and friends to give them advance warning.

You will need to stay off work and isolate. If you do an LFT on day 6 and 7 and they are both negative you can leave isolation early. If either are positive continue isolating.

Under 18s and vaccinated members of your family can do daily LFTs for 7 days and if negative can go to work/school, etc

If you know the people you’ve been in contact with in the days before you tested positive a phone call or text would be helpful to them, just in case they have vulnerable family members that they are seeing and need to begin testing themselves.

The email telling you you're positive has advice and links to the guidance?

When did you say your symptoms started from when you booked the PCR?

Tell anyone you've been in close contact with in the last 5 days. A lot of people don't bother with the track and trace questions. And isolate.
