How long for postal PCR results?

Just that really. Posted a PCR off on Thursday after a blazing positive lateral flow. It's been over 48 hours since I posted it. I don't drive and the nearest walk in is a bus ride away so have to do postal ones. I'm still getting strong positive lateral flows and feel rotten.
I'm in Derbyshire if it makes a difference.

My daughter’s was sent off Wednesday and came back today. I was told today they can take up to 4 days. Mine was sent off yesterday. My symptoms started Monday and lateral flows negative every day, including last night, but this morning I have a faint line. Not sure if I’m on day 5 or the symptoms that I had Monday aren’t anything to do with it. Cough started last night.

I was coming on to ask the same question! Sent one off Wednesday by post, it's now almost 70 hours from when the post collection time was.

What do 119 do if you call them about it after the 6 days the .gov website says to give them to return a result? Do they just send you a new one or do they have some other way to search for your results?

If you have positive LFTs why does it matter?

I need a positive PCR result for work to get full pay.

Posted mine on Wednesday. Still no result and Royal Mail tracking says ‘unable to confirm status’ so I don’t even know if it’s arrived.

I sent mine Tuesday (4th jan) had to phone 119 to chase them...they're looking in to it. Isolation day 10 tomorrow.

Winefortea when I rang 119 today she confirmed all my info and that it had been over 96 hours and said she had opened up a chase on it. Said it usually takes around 24 hrs. I'll get a txt, email or someone from 119 will phone me

Posted mine Monday. Got it back today.....

Finally got my positive result at 1am! So about 56 hours from when it would have been picked up at the post box to getting the result!

I sent one off yesterday. Just wanted to check did you peeps receive a confirmation email when you registered your test kit? I got nothing and slightly concerned that i entered my address incorrectly and won’t receive the result.

Rollergirl - no confirmation email, but you can use the tracking number on the front label on the box to check when it was received.

Please could you tell me how I check the tracking number of the pcr to check it's been received? Which website Royal Mail?

I posted June on Tuesday afternoon, got the results back just after midnight on Thursday (so early hours of Friday morning).

Sent mine Tuesday (4th), got result Saturday (8th)

Sent one for my mum yesterday at 17.45. Result back (positive) this morning at 8.06. So just over 14 hours.

In the past it is always next day....in London. But maybe now its more busy. Sent one off yesterday so we will see if it comes back today.

Anyone done postal lately how long is it taking?
