Pain above collarbone - Moderna Booster

I had my booster 2 weeks before Christmas and had a very painful arm for about a week which was expected. Ever since the booster however, I have a niggling pain above my collarbone, near my shoulder on the side I have the vaccination. I had a session with an osteopath a few days ago but the pain is still there. Has anyone else experienced this?

I haven’t experienced it but I think you need to speak with your GP as it’s gone on for a while. It more than likely is from the booster but just get checked.

I've been researching this as I have something similar after booster 8 days ago. There are several explanations to do with temporary nerve damage, if the shot was given too high up. It should go away but if not get it checked out. My issue is a persistent ache above shot site and a tingling all down my arm into my middle and ring fingers.

I had my booster (Pfizer) today and my whole arm feels I've been punched and it's now in my collarbone, it's bloody painful and I hope it goes, but yes if I were you I would get checked out, I did read somewhere that it's when they inject too high in the arm which causes the collarbone pain, not sure how true it is but it would make sense I suppose.

If the pain is in the centre of the collarbone, just above it, it’s your lymph glands.

I had this and it’s apparently quite common. Above my collarbone for 14 days after the booster was incredibly tender. It felt grainy under the skin and very sore.

It’s a lymphatic response, notably on the side you had the vaccine which is more common.

I've not experienced this but me and my husband get cluster headaches after the booster. We had our booster on the 21st December.

Thanks for your replies. I've booked a phone consultation with GP just to make sure.

@faithfulbird20 How long did you experience those headaches for? I was ok for a week and now headaches for a few days so nearly 2 weeks after booster. Not sure if it's related or not, I rarely get headaches normally.

It’s most likely a swollen lymph node. I had the same after my second Pfizer. Collarbone was sore and swollen (like a large soft lump) on the same side I had the jab. I had to look into at the time as well as I didn’t know what it was. It went down after a few days.
