So annoyed at my parents

Yesterday was orthodox Christmas Eve and DP and I visited parents for dinner.

After 30 mins ish it was revealed that my DF's colleagues had Covid but he was testing negative.

We decided to stay for dinner as at that point we had obviously been exposed.

DF has just text me to say that he tested positive this morning.

I am so bloody annoyed at the pair of them. They obviously didn't mention this as they didn't want to miss Christmas again but that's no excuse really. I've had Covid twice and the second time was via my parents, I'm pretty sure.

I haven't had my booster yet, although DP is triple jabbed.

Just a rant as there's nothing to be done at this point.

Unless you're going to travel why would you be paying for a PCR?

TheDuchessOfBeddington · 11/01/2022 15:32

@Wellbythebloodyhell

Let's pay £1000 in PCR tests each time we meet up and migrate to warmer climbs every winter! Shock oh how the other half live hey! And I'm the deranged one ConfusedHmm
You really are.

On another note, I’ve got £650 in my current account. Does anyone know if that’s enough for first months rent and deposit in Marbella?

Lou98 · 11/01/2022 15:48

@Delatron her update says she has tested positive

Delatron · 11/01/2022 16:00

Ah ok, I didn’t see that @Lou98

Doesn’t really change anything though. Still would be more concerned about my parents than angry with them.

I think you're addressing the wrong person?

Sorry should have added lighthearted there!

@Delatron I agree, I hate when people start throwing blame around when they chose to socialise too. Was just in case you'd missed the update

Exhausteddog · 11/01/2022 16:45

Oops sorry[blush[blush]@TheDuchessOfBeddington

Delatron · 11/01/2022 16:47

Thanks @Lou98 I did miss that update!

Delatron

I am concerned about them and have kept in touch, asking how they are. Dad is fine, mum somehow does not have it despite my sibling also testing positive.

But I'm still angry at them!

My dad knew 3 days before he tested positive that he had been exposed. My mum found out on the day he tested positive. Neither of them told us before we started our 2 hour drive to see them, and only brought it up after we'd been in the house/at the table eating for a little while.

We now both have Covid and have to self isolate for 10 days. I was very unwell today and slept for most of the day.

My mum told me she was spraying surgical spirit on a mask and breathing it in for 10 minutes to "strengthen" her lungs! But she's too afraid to get vaccinated because she thinks it's dangerous. My dad's mum survived cancer but died of Covid. And still he didn't think to mention he had it before we came over.

I am at the end of my tether.
