If I test positive on day 6 can I test again on day 7 and 8 to end isolation early or just isolate for the full 10 days?

No, if you are still positive on day 6 or still have symptoms other than a cough or change to taste and smell you must continue to isolate for the full 10 days

Yea you can. The information I had direct from test and trace was that from day 6 of isolation onwards you can end isolation early if you have two negative lateral flow tests 24hrs apart with no high temperature. I would try not to get your hopes up though, out of the 5 of us who has covid over Christmas in my house, none of us tested negative before day 10.

I don't see why you couldn't 24hrs apart.
If you test negative on day 7 & 8 of course you can leave early. They'll let you if you test negative on day 6&7. So just keep doing checking.

I'll try to upload the screenshot I took just now from the nhs covid app. It's quite long sorry so you can see all the information. But it says keep isolating until 2 negative tests 24hrs apart (after day 6) with no temperature, or until 10 days are completed.

Yes you can test the next day and day after until you get 2 consecutive negative tests or you reach the end of 10 days, whichever comes first
