What does ‘fully vaccinated’ mean now?

Hello, sorry if this is a daft question but I’m sure I saw something which said that you now needed three vaccinations to be fully vaccinated, and not just 2? Or maybe it was just something that the govt planned to introduce?

I was pinged by the t&t app this evening for contact with someone on Monday. I only had my booster yesterday morning so assumed I wasn’t ‘fully vaccinated’ as it has not been 14 days since my last vaccine BUT DH reckons I just use my double vaccinated status to avoid self isolating.

Have been feeling unwell but no traditional covid symptoms but thought it was from the Moderna booster I had yesterday morning as I match the main symptoms for that.

Have a PCR booked for tomorrow and my LFT this evening was negative. Of course, we don’t have enough LFTs to test all three of us everyday for 7 days!

All thoughts welcome!

Scotland is 2 +booster and england is just the 2 jabs to add to your confusion

If you are in England you are considered fully vaccinated with 2 jabs for T&T purposes. Although it has never been a legal requirement to isolate if you get "pinged" by the app anyway.

If you're elsewhere in the UK the rules might be different.

In England you must be 14 days post second vaccine to be exempt from contact isolation when informed by the T&T service, which is not the same as the app. So your husband is right, you do not need to isolate. You wouldn't need to isolate even if totally unvaxxed as the app isn't legally binding.

I called test and trace and they confirmed two doses is fully vaccinated and said I I take a LFT today and it just negative then I don’t need to self isolate. Makes things easier but will still be cautious and keep our PCR tests. Don’t want to infect anyone!
